Three things inspired Letters from Albert: The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, this old German video game, and bananas. The idea for the letters came to me while reading about the discovery of bananas and how they were first introduced to people in the USA. Isn't it fascinating to think about a world where bananas were an unknown thing? And imagine something like a banana suddenly being introduced—the world felt more magical back then.
